What is Streamind?
Streamind is a real-time AI conversation engine designed to support natural communication for people who have lost their ability to speak. Instead of slow and frustrating word-by-word typing, the system listens to the context of the conversation in the room and can quickly suggest full, natural, and relevant sentences—helping you respond closer to the pace of life.
Who is this system for?
Streamind is for individuals whose ability to speak or move has been impaired, but whose cognitive abilities remain intact. This includes people living with ALS, aphasia (post-stroke), traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological conditions. The system is already being used in guided communication and rehabilitation contexts, with encouraging feedback from users, families, and professionals.
How is Streamind different from standard AAC systems?
Many AAC tools function as "smart keyboards" or symbol boards, which can make it hard to stay in the rhythm of the conversation. Streamind is different: it's "a conversation, not a keyboard." The system doesn't wait for you to start typing. It follows the dynamics around you and prepares relevant response suggestions in advance, reducing physical and cognitive load so you can express your thoughts more quickly.
How does the system change the eye-tracking experience?
This is one of Streamind's most important areas of innovation. Many eye-tracking users have had to deal with frustrating calibration processes and limited tolerance for movement.
Our technology is designed to make interaction more forgiving: the interface can tolerate imprecision, small movements, and changing physical conditions better than traditional pixel-targeted selection. The goal is to help users stay in control of what they want to say, with less frustration and less effort.
Do I need to buy special equipment or expensive hardware?
No. Unlike traditional systems that require thousands of dollars in dedicated hardware, Streamind is flexible software. For users with some motor ability (even minimal), the app runs on standard Android devices and tablets. For users who rely on eye-tracking cameras, our software is designed to complement existing equipment and make interaction faster, smarter, and more forgiving.
Does the AI speak for me or make decisions for me?
No. The system is designed to suggest, but you always choose. Our AI will never say anything without your explicit selection. You remain in control of what is said, how it is said, and when.
Are my conversations saved or recorded?
It is important to make a clear distinction: we never save audio recordings. The voice in the room is processed in real-time and immediately deleted.
However, the text of the conversations is securely saved in your personal account. This allows the system to develop a "memory"—learning your speaking style, your loved ones, and your preferences to offer better, more natural responses over time. You can delete your conversation history with a single click at any time.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your content is used to provide and personalize your own experience within the app. We do not use your conversations to train public or general AI models. You can delete your history or your entire account through our website.
How does the system work during a free-flowing conversation with family and friends?
The system securely processes the conversation happening around you. When you are asked a question or wish to respond, it can quickly display several full response options on the screen, based on the topic, your preferences, and your memories. You select a response, and the system speaks it in a natural voice.
Can I make phone calls with Streamind?
Yes. Streamind Calls places a real phone call — to a doctor's office, a family member, or anyone with a phone number. What they say appears as live text, Streamind suggests replies that fit the moment, and the reply you tap is spoken into the call. The other side simply talks on the phone as usual.
Is the system intended to replace speech therapy?
No. Streamind is an advanced AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tool, not a replacement for professional diagnosis, counseling, or therapy. Instead, Streamind is designed as an AAC tool that SLPs can evaluate and tailor to a patient's evolving communication, clinical, and physical needs.
Do you work with SLPs and rehabilitation centers?
Yes. Streamind views healthcare professionals as full partners. The system is used and evaluated in rehabilitation and professional care contexts, and we continuously develop the product in collaboration with, and based on feedback from, SLPs, occupational therapists, and doctors.
I used your previous app, meliApp. What happens to my account and data?
Good news — Streamind is the upgrade to meliApp, and moving over is effortless. All you need to do is download the new Streamind app and sign in with the same account you already use. Everything you had in meliApp—your data, your memories, your preferences, and your history—will be waiting for you, exactly as you left it.
We rebuilt the entire experience from the ground up, end to end, so Streamind looks and feels completely different from meliApp, with many more features and a much smoother, more natural conversation. Once you've signed in and seen that everything is there, you can safely delete the old meliApp—you won't need it anymore.
How do I start using Streamind, and how much does it cost?
To get started, select Download on our website. You’ll see the download options for your device. To download the Windows version, sign in with your Google account first. If you need help choosing a version or getting set up, contact our team. The core system is currently free; availability and pricing for advanced features may vary by plan.
